About Brian Lamar Bowen II

Originally from Saginaw, Michigan, Brian Lamar Bowen II is a senior at La Lumiere School in LaPorte, Indiana. A highly ranked basketball prospect, he plays for the Meanstreets within the Nike Grassroots Basketball league. Currently focused exclusively on basketball, 6’7" Brian Lamar Bowen II previously played football, soccer, and baseball, and trained in karate.

Mr. Bowen has achieved attention from a number of college scouts, with Michigan State University prioritizing him in their recruiting efforts. At the showcase Nike Peach Jam in July 2016, he put in a stellar performance against Nike South Beach. Achieving 36 points and 10 rebounds, he took the Meanstreets to a 3-0 record. His performance combined exceptional shooting with active communication that boosted teammates’ performance.

Mr. Bowen maintains an active community presence and has volunteered with organizations such as the Jason Richardson Foundation. The basketball star directs Foundation fundraising efforts for the United Way of Saginaw County each summer.
